Case for Support

The Barlow Foundation is the charitable arm of a small, but powerful and highly specialized healthcare facility.  Formed as a 501(c)(3) non - profit organization, the Foundation provides support for the programs and services of Barlow Respiratory Hospital, Barlow Respiratory Research Center and Barlow's community outreach and educational programs.

Our excellence in patient care, research, medical education, and community outreach is built on the generous spirit of our donors.  Through donor support, the hospital and research center are committed to providing comprehensive long-term acute care to patients with respiratory and related diseases from throughout Southern California.

Recognized as one of the nation's leading centers for treating pulmonary and other critical illnesses and for clinical research, Barlow Respiratory Hospital accepts patients that other facilities do not have the expertise to help.  Barlow is unparalleled in helping patients dependent on mechanical respirators learn to breathe on their own again.  In fact, Barlow's ventilator weaning program sets the national benchmark at 50% success.

In addition to its national distinction, Barlow's remarkable local history since it's founding in 1902 makes this 105-bed hospital one of the most important healthcare facilities in Southern California.  With three hospital facilities located in Los Angeles, Whittier at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and Van Nuys at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Barlow is accessible to communities regionwide.

Every gift, large or small, symbolizes a commitment to the respiratory health and well-being of every Southern Californian.  We invite you to join us in our mission: "Helping You Breathe Easier".  To make a donation online, click on the "Donate Now" button in the left-hand column.  To learn about special giving opportunities just click on the topics listed.
